Ten or so years ago, what was the android version?
During the cake sharing government, before crude oil,
When affordable education and taxes were manageable,
Then calamity twined to tragedy, terror and crime to
friends,
And when medical treatment was cash based for
majority.
When motors were more than prestigious possessions,
Bridges seasonally collapsed when floods came along,
Starvation real as fire, tribal affiliations blue as
ice,
The whole world embraced a senseless ‘Oneness’.
While doctors worked hard to reduce the population.
Machinery and new construction knowledge brought,
They destroyed mansions along road reserves,
Slums were phased out, as markets were relocated,
Communication companies installed fiber cables,
Modernity couldn't let the peaceful land rest.
In sou'wester and panama hats, they braved the sun,
In hiking boots matching khaki pants and leather
jackets,
They ordered the African civil engineers, the women
Watched and children marveled, at their peculiar
faces,
Soon enough got used to their, flasked fluids and
potted food.
In twenty years so much will change, should I fear?
When local business will be run by them, us sidelined,
And the currency in power will be the yen, globally,
The paper cause a rise of Afro-Asian population,
Our cultures farther eroded and blackness forgotten.
